    The Luxury Bear Cabin

    Modern & Luxurious

    Exceptional

During the early spring and late autumn months, you may even be able to experience the Aurora Borealis from the comfort of your cabin, thanks to the floor-to-ceiling windows providing breathtaking views of the Finnish wilderness. These cabins allow you to experience the thrill of Finland’s most iconic wildlife without ever leaving the comfort of your accommodation.

Finland’s luxury bear-viewing cabins are located in the Kuhmo region, approximately 90 minutes north-east of Kajaani. Set along the crest of a secluded hillside, the cabins command breathtaking views across seemingly endless Finnish boreal forest—home to some of Europe’s most impressive wildlife, including brown bears, wolves, wolverines and eagles.

The cabins’ most remarkable feature, however, is their expansive floor-to-ceiling windows, which allow you to observe brown bears and other wildlife from the warmth and privacy of your own accommodation.

The cabins overlook a quintessentially Finnish landscape of mixed woodland and open wetland, with the colours and textures of the surrounding wilderness reflected throughout the Scandinavian-inspired interiors. Constructed using high-quality, locally sourced materials, the cabins offer a more sustainable, low-carbon accommodation experience. During the summer, abundant natural light floods the interiors, while the panoramic windows provide uninterrupted views across the surrounding habitat. In spring and autumn, guests may also have the opportunity to watch the Northern Lights when weather conditions and aurora activity are favourable.

This is one of the few places in the world where you can relax in a comfortable double bed, enjoy a glass of Champagne and watch wild brown bears wandering just metres beyond your window.

    Good to know

Although these luxury cabins provide outstanding opportunities to observe wild Brown Bears at close range, they are primarily designed for those who wish to enjoy the experience in complete comfort. For keen photographers and guests seeking an even more immersive wilderness experience, those staying for multiple nights may choose to spend one or more complimentary nights in one of the lodge's traditional bear-watching hides, positioned deeper within the forest or overlooking a tranquil lake. These purpose-built hides offer an entirely different perspective, providing exceptional opportunities to observe wildlife at eye level and capture remarkable photographs of Finland's iconic predators in their natural environment.

Your window into Finland's wildest landscapes

Alongside the luxury cabins, guests also have access to a network of more than 25 specialist photography hides. Designed specifically for wildlife photographers, these purpose-built hides are strategically positioned within carefully selected habitats, including open wetlands, atmospheric boreal forests and picturesque lakeshores, providing exceptional opportunities to observe and photograph Finland’s iconic wildlife.
