Mid-October and the days are getting ever-shorter, as we shift our usual pattern of entering the hides, choosing to shoot throughout the day to maximise the beautiful low autumnal light. For many years now the Wolves in this area have reproduced and the current pack is going strong. With bold group dynamics amongst the pack, we’re guaranteed to witness some incredibly unique wildlife photography opportunities, that quite literally nowhere else on earth can offer.
In the evenings we will enjoy delicious home cooked meals at our wilderness cabin, followed by freshly baked desserts warm from the oven. We have this beautiful cabin exclusively to ourselves, and each evening we can enjoy the facilities including the sauna, lakeside hot tub and a grill house where we can enjoy food and warm drinks around the campfire. If conditions are favourable, this time of year offers an excellent opportunity to observe the Aurora borealis as it dancing across the boreal skyline. Both the hide area and our basecamp are situated in some of the most wildest, remote corners of Northern Europe, where only wildlife call this land home. This really is a premium wildlife photography experience and one that quite literally, nowhere else on earth offers such opportunities to observe Bear, Wolf, Wolverine, White-tailed, and Golden Eagles on the same day.
Kyle is the founder of BearPhoto, having first established the brand in 2017. Based in the UK, he is a multi-award-winning nature photographer and wildlife guide. Renowned for his work with bears across the globe, Kyle has documented species in some of the planet’s most remote and rugged environments – from the Alaskan wilderness and Canada’s Arctic tundra in pursuit of polar bears, to the dense Boreal forests of Finland in search of the elusive European brown bear.
His powerful imagery and deep understanding of wildlife have led to collaborations with tourism boards, major broadcasters including the BBC, and, most recently, a global campaign for Samsung promoting their latest mobile phone technology. Kyle’s photographs are represented by some of the world’s leading photographic stock agencies and are widely published in international media.

Wildlife Hides
Originally built to house local forestry workers, Basecamp Kuikka occupies a peaceful headland surrounded by Lake Kuikka and seemingly endless boreal forest. Its traditional Finnish log construction and secluded setting give it a warm, authentic character — more like a large family home than a conventional hotel.
The lodge offers nine simple but comfortable guest rooms with shared bathroom facilities, hot showers and a traditional sauna. With a friendly, sociable atmosphere, it’s the perfect place to relax and share stories between wildlife-watching sessions.
From our extensive first-hand experience photographing Finland’s wildlife, Kuikka offers some of the country’s finest opportunities to observe wild brown bears, wolves and wolverines.

Kuikka is the most rustic of our Finnish properties — bedrooms and facilities are basic, so don't expect hotel-style luxury. We believe its exceptional location and once-in-a-lifetime wildlife access more than make up for the modest comforts.
The lodge operates more than 20 specialist hides across carefully selected habitats — open wetlands, atmospheric boreal forest and picturesque lakeshores. Each hide has private toilet facilities in a separate covered area at the rear.

Experience the iconic Masai Mara with thrilling safari drives, Big Five wildlife encounters, sweeping savanna landscapes, and unforgettable views of the Great Migration in one of Africa’s most spectacular nature reserves.
At first glance, you might wonder why BearPhoto is leading an African safari, after all, bears don’t roam the savannahs of Kenya. But at BearPhoto, our passion has never been limited by geography or species. We are driven by one thing above all else: the pursuit of extraordinary wildlife encounters and unforgettable photographic experiences. This journey to the Masai Mara represents exactly that – and more.
We are thrilled to introduce this exceptional photographic safari to Kenya’s legendary Masai Mara, one of the most celebrated wildlife destinations on Earth. For photographers, the Mara needs little introduction. Vast, open plains stretch to the horizon, alive with staggering numbers of wildlife and an unrivalled concentration of big cats. The scale, drama, and raw beauty of this ecosystem offer some of the most powerful natural spectacles anywhere in the world.
