Why talk to us

Why we know Finland

Finland isn’t a line in a brochure for us — it’s a place we return to season after season. We’ve spent years in its taiga, built relationships with the people who run its finest hides, and learned the difference between what looks good online and what actually delivers in the field.

First-hand knowledge

We’ve stayed in the hides and lodges we recommend — and the ones we don’t.

Trusted local partners

Long-standing relationships with Finnish guides and wildlife centres.

Our approach

How we plan the perfect holiday

A great Finland trip is planned around the wildlife and the season — not a fixed itinerary. Here’s how we get it right for you.

01

We get to know you

What you most want to see, your pace, your comfort level and your photography goals.

02

We match the season

We pick the month and region that give you the best realistic chance of your target wildlife.

03

We choose the right base

The hides and lodges we know first-hand — matched to comfort, photography and species.

04

We handle every detail

Flights, transfers and the practical bits, so all you have to do is turn up and watch.

The team

Our very own Finland specialists

When you plan with us, you plan with people who have been there. Meet the two specialists behind every Finland journey.

Independent & on your side

Our very own Finland specialists

Kyle’s love of Finland began on his first trip into the eastern taiga, and he’s returned every season since. He knows the region’s hides intimately and has a particular passion for photographing brown bears in the low midnight-sun light.

Today he helps travellers plan trips built around what they most want to see — and he’s honest about the odds, because he’s spent the long nights in the hide himself.

Advice you can actually trust

Natures Thrill isn’t tied to a single lodge. Our specialists have watched wildlife across Finland’s border forests for years and recommend what’s genuinely right for your trip — not whatever needs filling. Ask us anything: we’d far rather you arrive with the right expectations than oversell a season.

A few quick questions to the people who’ll plan your journey.

Q. What was your first memory in Finland?

My first memory was seeing the quiet Finnish landscape for the first time—the endless forests, crisp air, and a sense of wilderness that felt completely different from anywhere I had been before.

Watching a wild bear appear quietly from the tree line at dusk. It was such a powerful and unexpected moment that I’ll never forget it.It depends on your target species. Bears are most active from late May to August, with cubs best in spring, while wolves and wolverines are often easier to see in the colder months. Tell us your dates and we’ll match them to the best wildlife.

I’d send them to Lapland. It’s the perfect introduction to Finland—beautiful forests, pristine lakes, incredible wildlife, and the chance to experience the Arctic wilderness.
